This blog gets its name from the locations in which us three blog writers live. Myself and Ant in London, and Juliette in Brighton. London life is amazing, crazy and chaotic and busy and a whole lot of other things! We are so lucky to live here, but sometimes you need a day away from it all. This post is way overdue- this day trip was in August, but it seems apt to reflect on as the weather turns ever more cold and grey.
We arrived in Brighton around lunch time and headed straight for lunch at Beelzebab's at the Hope and Ruin – all a little bit woozy with hunger at this point. Beelzebab's is a vegan bar and diner with some seriously good food. We all ordered ‘popcorn chicken’ and hotdogs. Juliette and Ross got chilli cheese fries to share and Ant and I got fries with peanut satay sauce and jam (better than it sounds).
We headed to the seafront to walk off our lunch…and because a day in Brighton isn’t complete without a visit to see the sea. We were soon tempted by the bright lights and sounds of the pier and decided to hit up the arcade. The Jurassic park game beckoned and soon Ant and Juliette were slaying virtual dinosaurs as Ross and I cheered them on. We are all rollercoaster loving thrill seekers (another post for another day) and very nearly bought wristbands so we could go on all the rides on the pier…but ducked out at the last minute as we had done just that less than a year previously.
We headed back inland and mooched around the shops for a bit (Lush, I’m looking at you) before heading back to Ross and Juliette’s flat for tea and board games.
And when we returned to the big smoke, we felt refreshed, content, and ready to take on another week.
