Happy 5th Birthday Birchbox

By Rosalind

I've been an on-and-off subscriber to Birchbox for a few years. I generally subscribe for about 6 months at a time, and then cancel my subscription whilst I'm using all the products I've received for the last 6 months! I would recommend Birchbox to anyone who is able to afford the £12.95 each month and loves trying new beauty products. Plus it's always such a treat at the beginning of each month to get a little parcel in the post full of lovely things. The products I get in my Birchboxes are nearly always spot on, and the sample sized products are really useful- especially as I have to travel a lot for work.

When I got my June 2018 Birchbox through the post, the accompanying card informed me that it's Birchbox's 5th birthday! Happy Birthday Birchbox!

This special birthday box was actually in a gorgeous little tin (anyone else love a cute tin? Just me?)

In the box this month is an eyeshadow by Ella Eden, and I was able to select the shade in advance which is great. I opted for this dark brown, so I can attempt smoky eyes...

Next up is Benefit POREfessional Pearl Primer which sounds amazing. I've been a long time lover of Benefit, I used to save up pocket money so I could buy Benefit products as a teen. Many years later and I'm still a fan.

Also in the box was a hair product, Jour d'automne Smoothing Balm, which is ideal as I have a LOT of hair which can get very frizzy very quickly if I'm not careful.

Polaar have included their Velvety Sun Fluid for Face and Body...basically a fancy way of saying sunscreen. I'm not gonna lie, I don't LOVE the use of the word fluid but I do love my skin, so this is a winner. Sunscreen and SPFs are non-negotiable.

Last up, and the product I am most excited about is SUPERCLEANSE by GLAMGLOW (their use of capital letters, not mine). This is travel sized so ideal for when I'm away for work, it has 'a blend of three charcoals' to detoxify the skin and remove excess oils. Yup, I'm down with that.

EXTRA TREAT (my use of capitals) in the form of three teabags from Whittards of Chelsea. I could write a whole other post on how much I love Whittards, but that's another task for another day. This extra treat is also ideal for travel because each teabag is individually wrapped (bad for the environment, but I always recycle). I have Earl Grey, Mango and Bergamot and Lemon & Ginger. YUM. I <3 TEA

And that's the special birthday Birchbox! I am a paid subscriber to Birchbox and fully love the service, hence this blog post. Now...off to decide what to do with my tin!
